§ 30.02. Residency of Council Members in districts of representation.
A person shall not be eligible to hold office as a member of the Council unless he/she resides within the geographical area making up the district from which he/she is elected or to which he/she is appointed by the Council. When a person has ceased to be a resident of the geographical area of the election district from which he/she was elected or appointed, the said office shall immediately become vacant, and the Town Council shall declare the office vacant and commence proceedings pursuant to Government Code § 36512 et seq., to fill the vacant office.
